| ¡¡¡¡SKLBPI has mainly focused on basic and applied research in biology of plant pathogens and pests, with special emphasis on mechanisms of interaction between plants and pathogens/pests at the different levels. The purpose is to develop the modern biotechnology and novel technologies in plant protection, and to establish the new theoretical and technical systems for the control of plant pathogens/pests, to prevent more efficiently the disaster caused by plant disease and pests and to ensure safe crop production.
SKLBPI research directions:
Interaction mechanisms between plants and pathogens Mechanism of pathogenesis, and diseases resistance, molecular genetics of interaction between plants and pathogens
Biotechnology and its application in plant protection Genetically engineered plants with disease/pest resistance and genetically engineered microorganisms for plant disease/pest biocontrol
Behavior biology of pests Behavior features in feeding, reproduction and migration of plant pests, and physiological and biochemical mechanism
Interaction between insect pests, hosts and other organisms Relationship among insect pests, crops and other organisms in agricultural ecosystem, as well as their physiological and biochemical mechanisms, plant compensation to pest damage and resistant heredity
Mechanism and use of biocontrol microorganisms Mechanism of microorganisms for plant disease/pest biocontrol and ice-nucleation active bacteria
Relationship between plant diseases and insect vectors Transmit mechanism of plant diseases by insect vectors, latent reproduction of plant pathogens in insect vectors
Risk assessment of GMO Evaluation of resistant, eco-effects and risk assessment of GMO |
