A BRIEF INTRODUCTION
OF THE CHINA SOCIETY OF PLANT PROTECTION |

¡¡¡¡ The China Society of Plant Protection (CSPP) was organized in July 1962 and was originally supervised by the China Society of Agriculture. Now CSPP is affiliated with the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). CAST is nongovernmental organization which includes about 164 national member societies and associations. The headquarters and national office of CSPP are attached to the Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS)in Bejing. CSPP has a membership of about 13000 at present and there are 27 provincial local-societies of plant protection. The supervisory council set up in October 1993 is composed of 91 persons and the President is Prof. Da-rong Zhou. The members of supervisory council are elected every four years by the representative assembly of the society members in each congress of the society. |
